So today I’m doing a quick review on the Origins clear improvement active charcoal mask to clear pores…what a mouth full. I got this quite a while ago, I think it was when the charcoal masks first came out or at least when I first heard of them. I love face masks, I find them so relaxing and great for when I want some me time. So i love trying new masks, I heard and read great reviews about this product so I was excited to try it out.
It retails for $32CAD so I personally find it expensive, but it is cheaper to buy the biggest size instead of the smaller one as there is more product for the value. I like that the packaging is see through as you can see how much product you have left and use as much of it as possible, the con to that is that when you buy it you can see that the container is not completely full, doesn’t that bother you or is it just me? Like, fill it up.
The product has a scent to it but it’s not overpowering at all. The consistency is very creamy so I like that as it makes it very easy to apply. I do find it difficult to rinse off once it dries on your skin, I have to use tons of warm water but my skin feels refreshed and clean afterwards. One huge con for me is that it broke my skin out. It probably has to do with bringing all the yucky stuff out of your pores, I tried it a few times more but it didn’t improve and broke me out every time. Most reviews said it worked great for them and had no issues with it. Im sure now you think I hated this but that being said, I have found a really great use for it. I do not use this as a mask, even though that’s the purpose of it, I use it as an overnight spot treatment.
I put it on just before bedtime, wait a little bit for it to dry so it doesn’t go all over my pillow and wash it off the next morning. I notice a big difference even after one night, after a couple of nights my spots are gone! I got the idea from one of the reviews I had read even before buying the product, and I’m so glad I did because it works great! I repurchased this mask just recently and because I only use small amounts every night, it lasts much longer than it would as a mask and I get my money’s worth. I’ve tried a couple of different spot treatments and they don’t work as quickly as this mask does. So if you want to try this as a mask it might work great for you to clear your skin, but if it has broken your skin out, try it as a spot treatment and it might work great for that! I will repurchase this product again and again.
Have you guys tried this mask? What do you think of it?
